The Best Parties in the Middle of the Week in Zagreb

One of the most common questions that tourists or students who come to Zagreb ask me are: ''Where can we go out tonight?'' and "Where is the best place to have fun?". Of course, I do not need a lot of time to answer them. Zagreb is not only rich in history, architecture and cultural sites but it certainly has much more to offer when it comes to nightlife.

So let's start from the beginning. It is a common knowledge that 90% of young people go out mostly on weekends, precisely on Fridays and Saturdays. But what about those who feel the need to go out and have fun in the middle of the week? No problem. My Zagreb is a new Las Vegas, New York or London. And just like all the world's cities, Zagreb lives 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Cool, right?

Where can you go out on Mondays?

On Mondays, you can go out in the center of Zagreb, on Flower Square or in Tkalčićeva Street. These places are intertwined with numerous cafes, small restaurants and pastry shops and every corner is filled with numerous street musicians, singers, performers, sellers of various items that you usually don't need but after two or three cocktails you often buy something from them. But, why is the center of the Croatian capital so special? Because it never sleeps.

These two streets are always full of people who are 9-99 years old. Also, it is always hard to find a free table. Life on these streets usually begins at 8 am with a cup of coffee. In the afternoon, many people stop here to have lunch, which usually turns into the night out. The Flower Square and Tkalčićeva Street host so many fans, athletes as well as celebrities. There you can often enjoy various promotions, events and souvenirs. While one usually celebrates the success on the exams, others celebrate their graduation. Also, some of them are complaining about their breakup and some are sad because they were fired. However, these two places are always cheerful and filled with different emotions. But after midnight, sad feelings are transformed into happiness, joy and singing and there is a little chance that you will not connect with the people sitting at the neighboring table and make new friendships. Long story short. Flower Square and Tkalčićeva Street are two places where you should be on Monday.

It's good in heaven but Alcatraz has better atmosphere

If you find yourself in the center of Zagreb on Tuesday, then you should definitely go out in a cafe/nightclub Alcatraz in Preradovićeva Street. Although this place is quite small, its soul and atmosphere are so great that there is no way to miss it. The waiters are always in a good mood, cheerful and ready to make you dance until the early morning hours with a wide range of foreign and local music, even on Tuesdays. :)

I can remember many times when I went there just for a cup of coffee and that cup of coffee lasted until the dawn while enjoying the rhythms of Queen, David Bowie and Prince. And despite the fact that I had to go to work or a class the next morning, I have never regretted having a sleepless night. There is a catchphrase: "It's good in heaven but Alcatraz has better atmosphere“.

The best parties in town

Wednesday is the day when real parties in the center of the city officially begin but in all other neighborhoods in Zagreb, as well. On this day, it's easy to decide where to go out. But I usually choose Peppermint or the new Peper club. They say that there are the best parties in town. Famous DJs, disco ball, beautifully decorated interior and drinks at promotional prices is everything you need in the middle of the week. But you should always have an aspirin to heal the sore muscles the next day. Also, to drop in Johann Franck in the city centre is always a good idea. Or, to be more precise, anywhere in the centre is always a good idea :).

In this club, you can dance and eat as well

And on Thursday, I recommend you Green Gold Club. This is one of the biggest clubs in Zagreb, which is located on Radnička Street. The place where you can enjoy Asian, Chinese, Bosnian, Italian and Croatian food as well as the best tambourine players. It often happens on stage that one of the famous Croatian singers decide to join the Slavonian band. :) Of course, Green Gold Club lives seven days a week, but I personally love to go there on Thursdays. However, depending on the type of music you want to listen to, you select the night when you are going out there.

However, wherever and whenever you go out in Zagreb, one thing is certain. It will be your best night out and the best time ever.
