Zrinski Mine

If you want to make the experience even more exciting, you should definitely visit the mine Zrinski. The mine tour takes approximately 30 minutes which is just enough time to keep your children interested.

Working hours

The mine is open for visits on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays (except Easter and All Saints) from April till October, 11:00 - 17:00.  During July and August, it is open only on Sundays and holidays from 11:00 till 17:00. 

It is possible to take the mine tour during the week if you arrange a group visit of at least 20 people. For more information, you should contact the public institution  "Natural park Medvednica".

Directions to the mine

The Zrinski Mine is in the nearby mountain house "Grafičar", and there are a couple of ways you can get there:

By car: Take the Sljeme road to the mountain house "Grafičar".

By bus / on foot: Take the ZET bus from Mihaljevac to "Tomislav dom", then walk on the road or take the pleasant hiking trail number 26 to the lodge "Grafičar". 

On foot: Walk from Šestinski lagvić along the educational trail Miroslavec to Queens well (Kraljičin zdenac), then cross the road and continue hiking along the trail 1M. You can also walk from Gornja Bistra mountain in Zagorje along the trail number 46 to the "Grafičar".

Tips

  • The temperature in the mine is around 12°C year-round so even when it is warm outside, you should dress in layers and bring sports shoes. 
  • If someone has claustrophobia, it is not recommended for them to enter the underground spaces. 
  • When you are done with the mine tour, you can take your children for a homemade lunch in the mountain house Grafičar and try some of the traditional specialities.
