Ready, Steady, Go! HOLI RUN & FEST Zagreb
Are you a sports person or a couch potato? It doesn’t matter because HOLI RUN & FEST Zagreb is an event for everybody and for all generations. The main goal is to connect professional athletes, recreationists and common people who aren’t usually very active but want to have fun. This is an event oriented to celebrating the importance of recreation, under the motto ‘Slavimo pokret!’ – roughly translated to ‘Celebrate recreation!’. I’m perfectly aware that most people find recreation boring, but HOLI RUN & FEST Zagreb will prove you wrong.
So, what is it really about? Well, you’ll have an opportunity to test your running or roller skating skills during a 4 kilometres race. A race will be incorporated with 4 stations where you’ll be bathed in powdered colours. Colours that will end up all over your body are HOLI colours which are organic colours from India where they are used for all kinds of festivities. The more you run, the more stations you reach and end up with more colours on every inch of your body. After the race, there’ll be food and beverages for you to regain energy and refresh. But the fun doesn’t end up here. Upon reaching the end of the race, you’ll be welcomed to enjoy the diverse programme which includes stands, animation programme, sports and games. When the night comes, several DJs will make you move again, this time to dance!

It will be held in the Jarun district on May 13th and the gathering is at 3 pm. At 5 pm, the race starts either by running or roller skating. Time for fun as well as for animation programme, stands, sports and games is organised from 5 pm till 9 pm.
There are a few pieces of advice for you to follow to have a great time at this festival. Firstly, if you’re going to bring your mobile phone, make sure you put it in a plastic bag so it doesn’t get coloured as well. Even though you will be provided with different cleansing products after the race, I highly recommend you to bring your own wet wipes or a towel. If you’re sensitive to sun, bring sunglasses and some protection for your skin and lips. The colours are totally natural but better safe than sorry!

This is a cheerful, lets-have-some-fun event so dress as wacky as you can to make it even better. If you’re worried about the fact you’re not a runner or roller skater – this is a purely fun event so it doesn’t matter. What matters is to finish the race and have fun without stress. Remember, every participant is a winner since time will not be measured. Also, this is a perfect opportunity to gather as many friends as you can to create awesome memories. Or even a nice Instagram photos, who knows?
DJs that will guarantee you fun throughout the whole night and make you move your body are warm-up DJs, Vanilazz and Kosta Radman. Vanillaz are two guys who have managed to participate in the best clubbing events all over the world in a really short time. Their mixes were played by the most distinguished DJs such as David Guetta, Hardwell, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and many others. Kosta Radman is a producer and a DJ with a successful career on the regional clubbing scene. He regularly performs in best Croatian clubs – DJ Papaya Club which is on the list of 20 best clubs in the world by Top DJ Mag magazine. Personally, I’m thrilled that these DJs are coming to the event because I had the time of my life in the clubs where they performed. If you like to party to good house music, this is just the right place for you.

What about the tickets?
So, now that you know what this festival is all about, it’s ticket time. Tickets aren’t expensive but hurry up if you want to buy the cheaper ones. The early bird registration period has already passed while you're reading this blog, but don’t worry. You have enough time to get tickets at a regular price of 50 kunas till 12th of May, and on the day of the festival for 75 kunas. Still not expensive, right? If you have kids or younger siblings who are 7 years old or younger, there is no entrance fee. If you still haven’t decided, every participant that pays the ticket will get a surprise gift!
