Festival of Lights Zagreb – A Magical Festival in Zagreb for the First Time!
Festival of Lights Zagreb will be held for the first time ever! Isn't that exciting? As the name suggests, it’s a modern festival in which technology gives us the possibility to see beautiful lights in a completely new way. This festival is held in many cities around the world, such as Amsterdam, Helsinki, Prague, St Petersburg, Berlin, and now in Zagreb, as well. You’ll have four days to visit all the locations of the festival, as it lasts from 16th - 19th March. Another thing you should know - there is no entrance fee!
I visited this kind of festival in Berlin, and it was an experience I’ll remember forever. My friends and I had this game - we were wandering the streets of Berlin and we had to look for locations of the festival. When we found one, we would take a photo at the location and send it to each other. The one who had most photos won an awesome prize! By playing this game, we visited the whole festival and had such a great time visiting various locations with breathtaking light installations, lit up buildings and other fun stuff. You can imagine our excitement when we heard that the festival is coming to Zagreb, literally to our doorstep. Even though we know the locations, I can assure you, we'll come up with another game! You should too. This is a great opportunity to make this visit more fun than it would normally be. So, let me introduce you to the program of the festival and tell you why you and your friends have to visit it!

Festival of Lights Zagreb is based on the newest lighting technologies, lighting up gorgeous historic buildings, light installations on attractive locations and fun activities such as making it to the end of the laser maze. This year’s theme is Spring so the light installations will bring to the audience everything that spring represents - the awakening of nature, happiness as well as greenery and flowers. Sounds awesome, don’t you think? Historic buildings have their own charm, but imagine them all lit up with light installations which will enhance their beauty! What's more, interesting light installations on attractive locations will take your breath away and leave you speechless. Get ready to see light installations that you've never seen before! And finally, you’ll have a possibility to test your skills of a secret agent if you make it to the end of the laser maze without touching a laser. It's all about fun, right?
The festival will be held in seven different locations, and you should visit them all to have a full experience of this beautiful festival.

Festival of Lights Zagreb - Take a Tour!
Start your journey with Gric Tunnel where you'll find interactive spring-themed light installations with the sounds of nature. This tunnel is really dark, so the lights will bring it to life! After you finish enjoying beautiful lights in Gric Tunnel, you'll find your way to Tomiceva Street. There you'll see gorgeous waterfall made of glowing spheres with special colouristic effects! I'm especially excited about this one, as it sounds really magical. Your next stop is Lotrscak Tower because it'll become a lighthouse. Just follow the light and you'll find the right away. When you check out this magnificent tower, you can take a walk to the Vranyczany plateau, an attractive location for an awesome spiral installation named Twisted. It'll be a new experience for you since you've never seen it before! Afterwards, visit Gradec plateau. The program includes a laser spectacle with the lightning harp. And yes, it'll be as good as it sounds!
Now, get ready for something really fun! Klovicevi Dvori Gallery is the place for fun as the name of the program is The Trap. You guessed it, it’ll be a laser maze that I've mentioned earlier. If you make it to the end of the maze, you’ll win a prize. Test your skills of a secret agent and show your friends that the endless watching of spy movies wasn’t a waste of time at all! Last, but not the least, beautiful Jesuit Square program. An unforgettable, spring-inspired 3D mapping projection will make you want to stay forever and forget about the real world. The program is called The Spring Fairytale and it'll be just like that, spring in all its glory!
