What does it mean to be a digital nomad, you might wonder? Picture this – working remotely from anywhere you like, having the freedom and flexibility to travel anywhere, from the urban metropolis to the relaxing seaside, all while getting in touch with people and cultures from all around the world.

Zagreb has many traits to offer to digital nomads. Like: close proximity to many other european cities and beautiful Adriatic coast, a lot of hub spaces for remote working, bursting gastronomy scene and so much more. These are just a few reasons which make Zagreb a perfect place for digital nomads to reside here. And in the recent years, they have recognized them too! 

Zagreb – the ideal destination to work online

Over the last few years, Croatia's capital has become the dashing cultural and business scene epitome. However, following the newest trends in sustainability, intelligent technologies and infrastructure, Zagreb makes an excellent workstation equipped with modern coworking spaces, cafes and an overall professional setting.

The cultural dynamic of the city is none less impressive. All year-round, you can experience the urban atmosphere of Zagreb through eclectic music, film & food festivals, award-winning and world-famous Advent, fantastic art, science & history exhibits, or simply by enjoying one of many hidden gastronomical gems. One of my favourite activities is walking in the charming city centre, cosying up in a nice coffee bar and just soaking up the energy of Downtown Zagreb. Sounds lovely, right?

Where to mingle with your fellow nomads?

Okay, you made the excellent choice to relocate to Zagreb. What now? You might wonder whether there are any possibilities to connect with like-minded people here. Well, luckily, there are plenty of options!

Zagreb Digital Nomad Week, held in June, is an event that hosts leaders from global communities, recognized industry trends and tourism experts, and experienced digital nomads. The aim is to present global insights into the main topics of online work culture: the evolving workplace, the rise of remote work, with a highlight on community building in Zagreb. Seven days reserved for seven different topics with a fantastic venue line up including Canopy Hilton, Swanky Mint Hostel, Hub385, and more, sounds great!

Another intriguing venture worth mentioning is the Zagreb Digital Nomad Ambassador Project, which hosted guests from the USA, South Africa, Israel and Singapore. The Zagreb Tourist Board gives digital nomads of the globe a unique opportunity to experience Zagreb as their place of living and working for free for one month. In addition, participants get to share their journey of tackling Zagreb with the broad community of other digital nomads.

The right spot to be jolly and merry

This brings us to the Christmas star of the show - Digital Nomad Jolly WrapUp meetup! The perfect finale of digital nomad gatherings for this year will offer you a warm welcome to Zagreb and hopefully introduce you to all the wonders this city offers, all while meeting nomads from across the globe!

As part of the Advent, this event is a perfect combination of sightseeing, exploring local customs, engaging in exciting discussions and panels, immersing in the flavours of Croatian cuisine, and many more!

It also gives you a chance to discover the beautiful landscape outside of the town, such as the recently renovated medieval castle Medvedgrad and the picturesque city of Samobor. In addition, those who enjoy running and sports can participate in the Zagreb Advent Run, which is known as the most cheerful and festive holiday race in our country. There's something for everyone!
